I understand that drinking just water can get a bit boring. Especially if you're used to drinking some fancy schmancy drink from Starbucks or something. Mine used to be a iced, decaf, tall, nonfat, light ice, sugar free vanilla, caramel machiatto. Talk about a mouthful. And let's not even talk about the complete lack of anything redeeming in the drink itself. But boy did it taste good!
Here are a couple of drinks (one cold, one hot) that we have come to love around our house.
Iced Tea. I don't even like tea and I like this stuff. I have to credit the recipe to my hubby. He knocked it out of the park on this one.
Iced Tea
9 Earl Grey tea bags (or some kind of black tea)
3 Good Earth Original tea bags
1 gallon water
Place all twelve tea bags in a glass jar or pitcher with a lid and fill will cold water. Set outside in the sun for a couple of hours or until it's done to your liking. Refrigerate and enjoy! We are usually able to make two batches with one set of tea bags. The second batch may take a bit longer to make, but it tastes just as good as the first.
Yes, this looks just like black coffee. And, in reality, it almost is. However, we add a little cinnamon and/or vanilla in with the grounds before we brew it. The flavor is just enough to make it feel gourmet. You could very easily add some nutmeg or something similar too. And, while you're at it, just go ahead and brew and extra pot and stick it in the fridge for some iced coffee later!
